Rocky Mountain Getaway

Sometimes you just have to get away... Rocky Mountain Getaway is designed to be a great opportunity to get away for just one weekend durin the semester and focus on your relationship with the Lord. Not only is it a time where the Lord will meet you but you will have an incredible time with current friends and friends you didn't know you had yet! It takes place at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO usually about 6 weeks into the fall semester and it invovles Cru at CU, CSU, UNC, Denver metro and Colorado Spring Metro! Get in the mountains, meet some people, and experience God....

Denver Christmas Conference

You thought Rocky Mountain Getaway was a great time? At the gaurentee of sounding cheesy...you haven't seen nothin' yet. Rocky Mountain Getaway is to DCC as Steve Urkel is to Brad Pitt...You'll be spending 5 days in downtown Denver to hear amazing worship and an array of incredible speakers. There was also be gobs of various seminars to choose from! We are a dedicated group of people who are excited to see people experience Jesus either for the first time or to see them grow in their faith for a lifetime.We all come from different backrounds, experiences and cities from across the country but have the same goal in mind...to see God change lives here at the Univesity of Colorado. We are a spiritual movement on campus. When we say movement we mean to represent that there is a direction in which we are heading and building towards. Because we desire for every student to have the opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ, to understand and experience the gospel through faith, we always: Take the initiative to share Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit leaving the results to God. Part of that direction will only occur if we continue to tell people about what it is we believe and to introduce them to the person of Jesus Christ.We want to reveal the gospel to others and to train students up being able to share who Jesus is to others in a very clear way through asking questions and speaking truth as shown through scripture. May the story of Jesus not only be heard but also be seen in the lives of our staff at students at th Univesity of Colorado.
Because we desire for every believing student to experience genuine life-change—to be established in their faith, grow in a healthy relationship with Christ and rapidly reproduce among others—we always: Model and communicate the Christ-centered life by helping others understand, experience and pass on the foundational concepts for Christian living.We do this by having student and staff lead small groups across campus, plan retreats and conferences for students to experience Christ in a new way with others and discipleship amongst the staff and student leaders on campus. We want students to be more empassioned about the gospel leaving college than ever they were before they came!
Because we desire for every believer to have the privilege of reaching others for Christ and to see God send ever-increasing numbers of laborers into the harvest of the campuses, communities and the world, we always: Send Christ-centered laborers to engage in intentional evangelism and disciple-making.Cru is not a church and so we understand that we usually only have students for about 4 years. And then...we want to send them out. We want them to know how to be able to live missionally no matter what career path or vocation that they may choose. Having students be "100% Sent" is a common term we use to describe the goal and desire for what we want to see as a ministry and movement here at the University of Colorado.
